There are rumors going about that there was an earthquake in Utah County this evening.
From my amigo Craig: Was there really an earthquake in Provo?
Judging by the responses to his inquiry it looks like there was a small one. At the time I was chilling on the couch listening to this band I recently discovered. I felt some sort of rumbling, and I remember taking out my headphones, trying to figure out if there was some big truck driving around outside or if I was simply listening to my music too loud. I didn't hear a truck, so I just figured it was the music and so I turned it down. Turns out it was an earthquake and I could have listened to that music at that oh so delightful decibel.
I have pretty good luck when it comes to earthquakes. The only other earthquake I remember was when I was a missionary in the Alps. We were at an investigator's house and I went in to use the bathroom. I sat down and the seat started vibrating (a very pleasant sensation- when I am rich I am going to invest in a massaging toilet seat). When I came out my investigator started making fun of me, saying my gas shook the whole house. I let them laugh and then explained that it was probably just the train going by the house. Turns out the nearest train tracks were miles away. The next day I read that it was an earthquake. I could go for another earthquake-toilet scenario.
Now if I can only get an earthquake to happen while I'm on the pot listening to music . . .
